Noble Tony Bracy and Lady Cecelia Bracy with can tabs
The Roanoke-Chowan Shrine Club conducted their May meeting with a Fish Fry Appreciation Dinner for those who assisted with the club’s fundraiser, a special “Can Tab Fundraiser” presentation, and then recognized two nobles who received their Shriners International Service Awards.
A special fundraising presentation was made in addition to the service awards. Lady Cecelia Bracy, wife of Noble Tony Bracy, is a schoolteacher at Northeast Academy of Lasker, NC. The school selected our Shriners Children’s to be their beneficiary for their yearly service project. They collected can tabs during two separate times. The first collection netted a total of 59.72 pounds which were presented by the Bracy family at the 2024 Greenville Shriners Days. The second collection of tabs netted 74.34 pounds and were presented to Illustrious Sir Randy Simpson and our Divan members at this meeting. Their son, Adam, a former patient at our hospital, assisted with this presentation. A huge “Thank You with Blessings” to the staff and students at this school for their dedication and efforts.
The night activities concluded with two nobles from the Roanoke-Chowan Shrine Club being presented their Shriners International Service Awards, letters and pins. Noble Arthur Lee Horton received his 50-Year pin and Wesley Liverman received his 25-Year pin. The presentations were made by Illustrious Sir Randy Simpson. Capt. of the Guard Bobby Dail, and Noble Billy McKeel, club president assisted with the presentations.
This was a very well-planned night at the club with great food, fellowship, and brotherly love enjoyed by all.
