Edwin R. “Teeny” Jones

Illustrious Sir Edwin “Teeny” Jones was born on September 6, 1950 in Washington, NC and was the son of the late Edwin R. Jones, Sr. and Zella J. Jones. His father and grandfather were very active members of Orr Lodge in Washington and his mother was a member of the Eastern Star. While growing up in Washington he was very involved in sports, lettering and receiving conference awards. Illustrious Sir Jones was also very active in the Boy Scouts and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout as well as earning the coveted God and Country Award. In addition, he was also selected to be a member of the prestigious Order of the Arrow and was also selected to represent North Carolina in the first World Jamboree held in the United States.

Illustrious Sir “Teeny” recently retired from Eagle Transport Corp. after thirty two years of service, serving as the Vice President of Marketing and Sales. He and his wife Rebecca (Becky) currently reside in Wilson, NC and have two married daughters. They are Tara Brown (Jeff) and grandson Noah, Courtney Price (Ryan-Sudan member) and granddaughter Carson. They attend Milbournie Free Will Baptist Church in Wilson, NC.

Illustrious Sir was raised to the degree of Master Mason on May 9, 2000 at Wilson Lodge 712 in Wilson, NC. He then became a member of the York Rite Bodies on May 13, 2000 and crossed the sands to becoming a Shriner on May 22, 2000 in Greenville, NC. He then joined the Wilson County Shrine Club where has held numerous positions including house committee, board of directors, second and first VP, president, golf tournament chairman, fish fry chairman and cow pie chairman.

He has been an active member of the Sudan Monster Trucks serving on the board, vice commander and commander for two terms. He is also an honorary member of the Sudan Horse Patrol and a member of International Horse patrol. On October 22, 2005, “Teeny” became a member of New Bern Court #145 Royal Order of Jesters.

During his tenure of nine years on the Divan, he has been extremely active serving as an area governor for five years, participating on many committees including building, insurance, and membership.  Illustrious Sir “Teeny” is extremely excited and encouraged by our membership turn around in the past two years as well as a substantial decline in NPD’s. It appears that through diligent work by a group of dedicated Divan members and new committee members we are “making a difference”. Let’s not ever forget our philanthropy that is dear to all of us and continue to support the Shrine and Shriners Hospitals for Children.
